Mini bio
How it started.
Brian left law in 1998 and tried an email newsletter business that failed. Learning to sell through useful online content became the thread running through the businesses that followed.
The Copyblogger years.
In January 2006, Brian launched Copyblogger as a one-person site. It grew into a resource for writers and content marketers, then supported a business making software, hosting, WordPress tools and courses. The company grew without venture capital.
A new chapter.
After the StudioPress sale in 2018 and the Rainmaker product acquisition in 2019, Brian sold his remaining Copyblogger interest in 2023. Today, Further focuses on midlife independence, while Leading Expert teaches people to build businesses around their expertise.
