Mini bio
How it started.
Carla studied makeup artistry at degree level in the UK, then worked on a makeup counter while taking freelance jobs. After moving to Australia, she taught makeup before building enough connections to freelance full time. In her Bali Body interview, she describes a working week split between commercial shoots and bridal or special-occasion clients.
A moment that stayed with her.
Carla named seeing a beauty campaign she had worked on displayed in MECCA as a career highlight. Her sister later spotted the same image in a UK store. Her official portfolio lists clients including KOOKAÏ, Levi’s, Bonds, Myer, Armani Beauty and Frank Body, plus work at Melbourne Fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week.

Alongside client work, Carla shares makeup techniques, product advice and behind-the-scenes material online. During lockdown she launched The Creative Directory. In a 2022 interview with The Makeup Insider, she discussed building a client base and recording authentic footage while working. The business brings together artists selected by Carla for their work and approach to clients.
