An unexpected beginning.
Catie grew up in the Bay Area and studied art at UC Santa Barbara before moving to Los Angeles for public relations work. Modeling began with a Craigslist sofa purchase from model Danika Brysha. Brysha explained how to apply to agencies, and Catie’s official biography says she signed within a week.
Finding a place in fashion.
In a first-person Bustle interview, Catie described growing up half Chinese and half white without seeing people like herself represented. She identified a 2018 Kérastase campaign as her first major campaign and described modeling as a way to help other girls feel seen.
From behind the scenes to her own collections.
Her earlier career included public relations for television and music events and marketing and advertising at The Shade Room. She later moved into modeling and content creation full time. In January 2022, she launched a collection with Amazon Fashion’s The Drop, inviting followers into the process through vlogs and polls.

Her work includes a Women’s Health Body Reflections feature and a PhotoBook fashion shoot photographed by Mike Ruiz.
