Mini bio
How it started.
Chelsey discovered baking at 22 and made her first layer cake for a coworker’s birthday. Encouragement from colleagues and friends helped turn that new interest into Chelsweets.
Finding her audience.
She began sharing custom cakes in spring 2014. In 2016, she started making decorating videos and reached 100,000 Instagram followers that fall. Food Network noticed her work and invited her to create cakes for its social channels.
Taking the leap.
Weekly Food Network livestreams helped her shift from selling cakes to creating content. After balancing baking with corporate finance, she left her job in January 2019. Today, her site brings together recipes, decorating projects and detailed tutorials.
