Mini bio

A wish to perform.

Cheryl’s interest in performing began young. She recalled dancing at her mother’s company dinner at six and attending a three-week summer programme at New York’s Broadway Dance Centre at 18. Pageants offered another route into entertainment: she represented Singapore and finished first runner-up at Miss Chinese International 2012.

The screen years.

Her breakout came as police officer Elizabeth Lee in the 2013 Channel 5 drama Mata Mata. She returned as Elizabeth’s daughter Joyce Goh in Mata Mata: A New Generation in 2015, then played Chinese teacher Wei opposite Tosh Zhang in the 2016 film My Love Sinema.

Building something personal.

Her experience of body-image pressure and an eating disorder helped shape her interest in wellness. She founded Cheryl W in January 2016. Later, with co-founders Rachel and Roy, she built Company of Wellness around products, nutrition guidance and exercise support. Her own company describes a philosophy of routines that fit everyday life.

Still drawn to acting.

Alongside business and raising three children, Cheryl has kept her love of performing. In her 2026 conversation with Irene Ang, she spoke about wanting to make work that can inspire others, while Irene revealed an offer to help her restart her acting career.
