Mini bio

How it started.

Chloe grew up in a food-loving Italian American family in Los Angeles and went vegan at 16. Cooking with her mother helped her find ways to keep family food traditions while changing the ingredients.

From culinary school to cookbooks.

After training at the Natural Gourmet Institute, she became the first vegan chef to win Cupcake Wars. She told her culinary school that friends asking for her recipes helped spark her interest in writing cookbooks. Her first, Chloe’s Kitchen, arrived in 2012, followed by books devoted to desserts, Italian cooking, and bold everyday flavors.

Back on Bleecker Street.

She co-founded By Chloe in 2015. After her departure and years of legal disputes, she opened chloe. in July 2024 at the original Bleecker Street address. Her current work includes the restaurant and bakery, recipes, and private cooking classes.
