Mini bio

How it started.

Dalina wanted to become a pediatrician until a college nutrition class changed her direction. She studied nutritional sciences at Penn State, then completed her dietetic internship and a master’s degree in nutrition education at Immaculata University. In a HipLatina interview, she described starting her own practice as a leap she was especially proud of.

Finding her people.

As Your Latina Nutritionist, she built an audience around eating without guilt and keeping cultural foods on the table. Her CHULA method gives that message a framework for questioning diet culture. Her work connects nutrition education with the experiences of Latinas who have been told to give up familiar foods.

From posts to pages.

Her first book, The Latina Anti-Diet, came out in March 2025, followed by a Spanish edition in July. In a message to educators, she explained her hope of preserving cultural food traditions for future generations. She also leads a team of Latina and women of color dietitians offering culturally affirming nutrition care in English and Spanish.
