Mini bio

How it started.

Danielle began eating plant-based meals as a college freshman living in a dorm. With limited equipment, she microwaved sweet potatoes, relied on the dining hall salad bar, and kept fruit on her desk. Those early experiences shaped the practical recipes she wanted to share with others.

Finding her audience.

In a 2023 interview with Penguin, Danielle said HealthyGirl Kitchen grew slowly at first. Her life-changing salad series brought a much faster wave of followers. She kept her focus on free recipes and making vegan meals easier to prepare.

Her debut cookbook, HealthyGirl Kitchen, came out in May 2023 and became a New York Times bestseller. Life-Changing Salads followed in April 2025. Her agency announced the following month that she had become a two-time bestselling author.
