Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Slovakia, David moved with his family to Vernon Hills, Illinois, at six. He began posting on Vine in 2013 and moved to Los Angeles after high school to pursue making videos.
The friend-group vlogs.
His YouTube vlogs took off with the Vlog Squad, a rotating group of friends. Fast edits, comedy, surprises and car giveaways became familiar parts of the videos. In a GQ interview, he traced his short vlog format back to Vine’s six-second videos.
Beyond YouTube.
David brought his on-camera work to television as a judge on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family and a host of Discovery’s Dodgeball Thunderdome. He also co-hosts VIEWS with Jason Nash and opened Doughbriks Pizza on Sunset Boulevard in 2022.
A changed pace.
His career also includes a public reckoning: in 2021, sponsors cut ties after sexual-assault allegations involving a Vlog Squad member, and David left photo app Dispo. He returned to his main YouTube channel in January 2025. Later that year, he told Good Guys he was choosing a less constant filming schedule.
