Mini bio
How it started.
Deeba began food blogging in 2007 after discovering American food blogs. She initially wanted a place to record her recipes and baking experiments. Taking better pictures became part of the pleasure, and the blog grew into a regular creative practice.
Finding her style.
She taught herself baking, styling and photography. Her portfolio describes how a digital camera gave her room to experiment, shoot again and play with colour. Seasonal ingredients, edible flowers from her garden and natural light became part of her visual language.
From blog to book.
Her dessert recipes and photographs brought Passionate About Baking an international readership. In 2021, Penguin Random House India published her cookbook of the same name, collecting chocolate recipes for everyday baking and celebrations.
Beyond her own kitchen.
Her work also includes recipe development and commercial styling and photography. For No-Mad India in 2017, she created recipes and photographed the brand’s tableware and textiles. Forbes India included her in its Top 100 Digital Stars list in 2024; on her press page, she called it her third year on the list.
