Mini bio
How it started.
Growing up on Atlanta’s eastside, Desi was the child who kept the family laughing. His grandmother introduced him to Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy. A friend pointed him toward Vine, and his first video went viral in 2012.
From football to comedy.
After playing college football, he graduated from Georgia State with a sociology degree in December 2015 and committed to comedy. He built momentum with frequent Instagram sketches, often drawing on relationships and familiar everyday situations.
Making room for others.
He founded Desi Banks Productions in 2018 to hire writers and actors and develop digital content and short films. Screen work included Love by Chance and Little, while touring brought his comedy to live audiences.
The next chapter.
In 2026, his work included the Your Favorite Cousin Tour and filming the upcoming action-comedy Boyz Trip in Cape Town. He has also been developing a sitcom with BET Studios inspired by his comedy.
