Mini bio
How it started.
Emmy started the channel in 2010 while living in Japan. Feeling lonely and missing conversation with native English speakers, Emmy began filming tasting experiences. Japanese candy kits offered a chance to mix, make and discover something new.
Growing with the audience.
Viewer-sent snacks helped turn the channel into a journey through foods from around the world. By 2015, Emmy had a five-month queue of fan-curated boxes waiting to be filmed. The appeal was in the details: taste, packaging and the stories behind the food.
A creative business.
Emmy kept making videos after returning to the United States. In a 2021 interview for YouTube’s The Upload, Emmy described how the channel became a family business, and how viewer suggestions continued to spark new experiments.
