How it started.
Born in Rome and raised in Los Angeles, Giada trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Back in Los Angeles, she worked in restaurants including Spago before starting GDL Foods, her catering and private-chef company.
The breakout.
A food-styling assignment for Food & Wine in 2002 brought her to Food Network’s attention. Everyday Italian followed in 2003, sharing approachable versions of the Italian food she grew up with. She went on to host Giada at Home, Giada in Italy and Giada Entertains.
Beyond the cooking set.
Giada built Giadzy around Italian recipes, travel and pantry ingredients, while also writing cookbooks and opening restaurants. More recently, Super-Italian, the kitchen makeover special Giada in My Kitchen and her YouTube series Everyday Giada have given fans new ways to cook and travel with her.
