Mini bio

How it started.

Before food videos became the job, Gustavo Tosta ran a web design agency. Taking the team to Brazilian steakhouses was expensive, so Guga began cooking sous vide at the office. A cousin recorded the cooking, viewers asked for more, and those requests kept the experiments going.

Finding the format.

Guga Foods was originally called Easy Foods. Sous Vide Everything found an audience first, then Guga returned to the other channel to grill at home with nephew Angel. Barbecue and unusual ingredient tests helped Guga Foods grow beyond the more specialized sous vide audience.

The experiments travel.

A Nutella-covered steak brought a viral moment and a reaction from Gordon Ramsay. The later Guga channel made room for Shorts and looser food videos. In interviews, Guga describes curiosity and audience suggestions as the reason to keep trying unfamiliar combinations.

From screen to cookbook.

DK published Guga: Breaking the Barbecue Rules on April 25, 2023. Its 100 recipes cover barbecue, sides, sandwiches, sauces and more, with techniques including smoking and dry-aging. In 2026, the videos continue to mix practical comparisons with experiments, including beef jerky-aged ribeyes with Max the Meat Guy.
