Mini bio
Food and a stage.
Jeff grew up in Chicago and loved performing from childhood. He told Sylvia Perez that he took Second City youth classes and began working in delis and butcher shops at 15. After college, he opened a deli with his cousin while performing in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.
Finding his way to television.
He moved to Los Angeles hoping to combine cooking and comedy, then enrolled in culinary school. Back in Chicago, he worked as a private corporate chef and kept performing. In 2011, he won season seven of Food Network Star and earned his own series, Sandwich King.
A familiar face at the table.
The Kitchen made Jeff part of a regular ensemble of cooks and hosts, and his television work also includes mentoring on Worst Cooks in America. His 2021 cookbook, Come On Over, gathers recipes and stories around the food and company he grew up with.
His own sandwich kingdom.
With his sister Emily, Jeff turned a long-pitched sandwich road-show idea into online reviews under the Sandwich Kingdom name. Mauro Provisions brings his Chicago food interests into sandwich kits, giardiniera and other products, while From Clown to King puts his comedy and music on stage.
