Mini bio
Friends first.
Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal met on the first day of first grade in Buies Creek, North Carolina, on September 4, 1984. Mythical’s own account says their teacher kept them inside for writing profanity on their desks and had them color mythical beasts. That friendship became the center of their work together.
Before the desk.
Both worked as engineers before pursuing comedy full time. They eventually built Mythical, their entertainment studio, and launched Good Mythical Morning on January 9, 2012.
Finding their flavor.
The show’s food formats became a signature. The first Will It? episode, Will It Taco?, arrived in 2014. Gut Check brought rapid ratings of a brand’s entire lineup, while celebrity guests joined the hosts for games and experiments. The daily show grew into a regular gathering place for fans known as Mythical Beasts.
Beyond the morning.
Their wider work includes the companion show Good Mythical More, books and live performances. In 2026 they celebrated GMM’s 3,000th episode and published the picture book Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers, illustrated by Erica Salcedo.
