Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Tianjin, Jessica moved to the United States at 16. After studying finance at Bentley University, she worked at Morgan Stanley in New York. She launched NotJessFashion in 2014 as a creative outlet alongside her banking career.
Finding an audience.
Jessica dates a turning point to 2016–2017, when her audience grew and she began working with major national brands. Her work expanded from outfit posts into beauty, travel and family content. During the 2020 lockdown, her iPhone tips found a much wider audience on TikTok, and she joined Apple’s iPhone 12 mini launch campaign.
Making the work.
Her husband Daniel photographs and films her content. For her November 2020 #legend cover story, Jessica helped create an editorial built around bold clothes and multiple locations. She told the magazine that elaborate style and transition videos can take up to eight hours to shoot.
Beyond the feed.
Jessica serves on the Museum of Chinese in America’s Advisory Board and chaired its 2026 Legacy Awards Gala. Her own site describes a community of more than seven million people across her platforms.
