Mini bio
How it started.
Growing up in London, Jo loved painting and drawing before turning to faces as a canvas. A course at London College of Fashion and hands-on work at MAC in Selfridges helped turn that interest into a career.
The first big break.
A photographer friend booked Jo for an Usher magazine shoot. That meeting led to touring with the singer and eventually a move to Los Angeles. Work in male grooming opened the door, followed by more room to experiment with female musicians and actors.
Finding a signature.
Lucy Boynton’s Bohemian Rhapsody press appearances became a showcase for Jo’s experimental style. On Instagram, finished looks sit alongside unusual visual references, letting fans see how color and texture connect makeup to everyday life.
From the kit to BAKEUP.
Jo and musician Grace Gaustad co-founded BAKEUP Beauty. Its early veilers crossed physical accessories and digital filters. Tarantulash followed in 2023, bringing a mascara Jo had already used on celebrity clients into the public collection.
