Mini bio

How it started.

After studying rhetoric at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Katie moved to New York and worked in fashion PR, eventually starting Tinder PR. Their first social-media success came through rescue dog Toast in 2014. Managing Toast’s online career helped Katie see what a personal platform could become.

Finding their voice.

Katie launched The 12ish Style in 2015, sharing shopping advice and personal style for women size 12 and above. #SuperSizeTheLook recreates celebrity outfits on a plus-size body. #MakeMySize challenges brands to include customers who cannot fit their clothes, turning fitting-room frustration into a public conversation.

Solving a familiar problem.

In 2017, Katie launched Megababe. The idea grew from needing products for thigh chafing and sweat that felt comfortable to use and carry. Katie built the business with their sister and a friend from camp, launching with Thigh Rescue and Bust Dust.

In 2025, they moved into fiction with Sunny Side Up, following a plus-size divorcee through friendship, dating and starting again. Its fictional swimsuit designs also inspired a real Kitty and Vibe collaboration.
