How it started.
Kerry grew up in Buffalo and moved to New York City in 2003. An assistant job at Chopard came before television production, freelance writing and editorial leadership at StyleCaster. In a Rank & Style interview, Kerry identified the move into digital fashion media in 2008 as a turning point.
The BAZAAR years.
Kerry joined Harper’s BAZAAR in 2011 and became its digital fashion and features director. The work included launching digital covers, styling celebrity features and overseeing recurring series such as Brand Watch and My Life in Three Looks.
Making room for more.
After returning to Buffalo during the pandemic, Kerry built an independent practice across writing, brand consulting, art and interiors. A move from small Brooklyn spaces made room for larger oil paintings. Baby’s First Zodiac followed in 2023, introducing young readers to astrology through rhyming poems.
Seeking beauty now.
In August 2026, Kerry renamed Why Not? to Seeking Beauty. The announcement described a renewed love of clothing, craftsmanship and discovering designers, alongside a continuing interest in interiors and beauty. Recent posts move between outfits for New York and the Hudson Valley, vintage searches and decorating projects.
