Mini bio

How it started.

Lena’s path into fashion began with modeling. Before opening her own stores, she studied fashion management in Amsterdam and worked for Levi’s Germany, according to a 2014 interview with Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.

A shop became a platform.

In her own account of Boutique Belgique’s beginnings, Lena traces the project to 2010, when she and Leonard wanted to build a store together. Early magazine coverage helped it grow. During the next five years they launched her blog, expanded into more stores and an agency, and released a book.

Making her own work.

Lena co-wrote Cologne’s Got Style with Henriette Frädrich, bringing together interviews, fashion photographs and styling advice from the city’s creative community. Her 2016 EDITED capsule translated her own wardrobe into five essentials, including a blazer, jumper, jeans, lace dress and basic shirt.

Her official site brings together fashion, travel and interior design. She shares outfits and trips alongside life with her husband and four children, and names Chanel, Bulgari, Bentley and the LVMH Group among her collaborators.
