Mini bio

How it started.

Lexi began sharing food on Instagram in 2015 as Superfood Runner while running cross-country and track in college. Beth kept the account going during Lexi’s study abroad. After working at The Feedfeed in New York, Lexi returned to Michigan to build the business with her mom. They launched Crowded Kitchen in November 2017.

A family kitchen.

Their recipes make room for different diets at the same table. Beth leads recipe development, while Lexi handles photography and writing. The name comes from cooking together in Lexi’s parents’ busy kitchen. Their official site now describes a four-person team and a community of more than seven million across social platforms.

The breakout recipes.

They credit their three-ingredient mango sorbet, first posted on Instagram in 2023, with helping change the business and inspiring Better Than Store-Bought. That series recreates familiar packaged snacks at home. Their 2025 peanut butter Easter eggs turn the idea into speckled candies that resemble real eggs.

From posts to print.

Their debut cookbook, published by DK on February 24, 2026, brings together more than 100 recipes for gatherings, with photographs, dietary substitutions and menus for special occasions.
