Mini bio
The first friendship.
Link met Rhett McLaughlin on September 4, 1984, their first day of first grade in Buies Creek, North Carolina. According to Mythical’s own history, their teacher kept them in from recess for writing profanity on their desks and had them color mythical beasts. That friendship became the foundation of their creative partnership.
From engineering to videos.
Link graduated from NC State in 2001 with an industrial engineering degree and worked in engineering before pursuing entertainment full time. The pair started their YouTube channel in 2006 after noticing that other people were uploading their website videos to YouTube and finding a bigger audience there.
A morning ritual.
Their early work included comedy and music videos. Good Mythical Morning launched in 2012, giving their friendship a regular home through taste tests, challenges, games, and conversation. Mythical grew around that partnership, with Good Mythical More extending the fun after the main show.
Beyond the desk.
Link’s work also includes Ear Biscuits, the father-and-son podcast Dispatches From Myrtle Beach, and Wonderhole. He and Rhett have written the friendship-and-creativity book Book of Mythicality, the Southern supernatural novel The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek, and the children’s picture book Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers.
