How it started.

Maja grew up in Slovenia and later studied in Madrid and lived in Los Angeles before settling in London. In a 2016 Story interview, she said friends encouraged her to start blogging because people already asked her for style advice. She launched Maja’s Diary in April 2015.

Finding her audience.

The blog grew slowly at first. She told Story she considered giving up, then brand recognition and collaborations helped her audience grow. Fashion became a full-time job as brands began sending clothes for her to style. Her blog and Instagram combined outfits, travel and positive reflections.

Fashion across borders.

Her work includes a Donna Ida style feature, a Şamdan Plus jewellery editorial with Roberto Bravo, and a custom Tina Valerdi gown at Cannes in 2025. Her agency describes a style that mixes luxury pieces with everyday clothing, alongside beauty, lifestyle and travel content.
