Mini bio
How it started.
Maria adopted a vegan lifestyle in September 2015. She later started Earth of Maria as a creative outlet while at university, developing recipes and photographing food alongside her studies.
Finding her audience.
In a first-person piece for St Hugh’s College’s 2019 Chronicle, she described starting Instagram to share meals and meet other vegans. As the page grew, she invested in a camera, developed a recognizable photographic style and posted consistently. The college reported more than 110,000 followers at publication.
From posts to cookbooks.
Her first cookbook, Earthy Vegan Eats, arrived in April 2021 through Page Street Publishing. Later that year she presented Cook Better With Plants, an ebook pairing recipes with practical advice on ingredients and kitchen basics.
Sharing the process.
Her interviews with Eat Blog Talk and Jenny Melrose explore how she makes food content, from consistent photography to short recipe videos. In the Eat Blog Talk interview, she described savory vegan comfort food as the focus that connected with her audience.
