How it started.
Maria launched Mia Mia Mine in 2012 as a creative outlet while working in finance in Los Angeles. The name comes from “Mia Mia,” her grandmother’s childhood nickname for her.
A new career.
A Carlson School finance graduate, she covered retailers as a stock analyst at Piper Jaffray. Hearing CEOs discuss fashion bloggers helped her see a business opportunity. She left finance in 2016 to blog full time.
Finding her audience.
Street-style photographs taken in Minneapolis and St. Paul helped her reach readers around the world as larger fashion accounts shared her images. Her brand work has included Nordstrom, Express and Abercrombie & Fitch.
