Mini bio

How it started.

A school presentation about meat consumption and climate change prompted Maya to try a plant-based diet. Living in rural Saarland, with few local vegan options, meant getting creative with everyday ingredients. In 2019, those kitchen experiments became the Fitgreenmind Instagram account.

Finding an audience.

Maya and their mother had dreamed of making a cookbook, and posting recipes was a way to build an audience for it. Instagram Reels brought a breakthrough in 2020. Maya’s own timeline records passing both one million and two million Instagram followers in 2021, the year the first cookbook appeared.

Beyond the recipe videos.

After finishing high school in 2023, Maya pursued Fitgreenmind full time. In 2024, Maya co-founded the company with Jennifer Reinhard and Kristina Kull and began live shows. Plantiful Cooking followed that December, and the 2026 documentary Better than Beef brought the same plant-based approach to a cooking challenge with René Adler.

Keeping cooking approachable.

Maya favors recipes that people can make with familiar supermarket ingredients. In a June 2026 interview with Republik, they also discussed taking time away in 2025 and finding clearer boundaries around work and social media.
