How it started.
Mónica studied arts before moving to London to study creative direction and styling. In their 2024 ¡HOLA! interview, they recalled sharing university outfits and things that inspired them on Instagram, then gradually finding an audience. What began as a personal outlet became a career.
Finding a voice.
Their style brings together pieces that might seem unlikely partners, mixing vintage clothing with contemporary designs. In Vanity Fair’s 2025 interview, Mónica named Chanel as the first luxury house that trusted them and said the collaboration opened further opportunities.
Making something of their own.
In 2024, Mónica founded The Trenza. The Madrid brand draws on summers in Ibiza and Spanish craftsmanship. Its debut featured five sandal models made in Spain, developed after Mónica struggled to find footwear that matched their taste. The launch followed nearly two years of work.
