Mini bio
How it started.
Before Mrs Hinch, Sophie Hinchliffe was a hairdresser in Essex. She opened @mrshinchhome in March 2018 to share the decorating of her home with husband Jamie. Cleaning routines became central to the account, with everyday jobs presented through chatty Instagram Stories.
Finding the Hinch Army.
Her audience grew quickly. In an April 2019 Ctrl Alt Delete interview, host Emma Gannon described a rise from 1,000 to one million followers in six months. Fans became known as the Hinch Army, while “Hinching” became her shorthand for cleaning.
From routines to books.
Her first book, Hinch Yourself Happy, arrived in April 2019 with cleaning plans and household tips. This Is Me followed in 2020, telling the story of the person behind the account. She also turned her love of planning into journals and list books, including Life in Lists.
Life at Hinch Farm.
Family life and animals became part of the world fans follow. Welcome to Hinch Farm, illustrated by Hannah George, brought that world into a picture book about moving home in 2023. Christmas on Hinch Farm followed in 2025. Alongside her P&G cleaning collaborations, Sophie has developed homeware with Home Bargains, including the animal-inspired Hinch Farm collection.
