Mini bio
How it started.
Around 2014, Sadia began posting recipes for family while working as a hospital dietitian in Vancouver. After meeting Robin on a backpacking trip in Thailand, she moved to the Netherlands and started taking Pick Up Limes more seriously.
Finding her audience.
Her first YouTube video arrived in January 2017. The channel grew quickly within six months, and in summer 2018 the operation moved from a small apartment into a studio.
From videos to a cookbook.
Recipes, a mobile app, and nutrition resources grew into Simply Plants. In her 2026 Cup of Jo interview, Sadia said an editor first approached her in 2019, but she waited until she felt ready to make a book she could be proud of.
