Mini bio
How it started.
Sakshi grew up facing body shaming and wanted other women to find the representation she had missed. She began making YouTube content about style and self-acceptance, then brought her work to Instagram in 2019. Her documentary Our Body brought together 13 women of different shapes and sizes.
Finding the runway.
Designer Rina Dhaka encouraged her to model, and Sakshi walked for her at Lakmé Fashion Week in 2019. In 2021, she appeared in Manish Malhotra’s Nooraniyat bridal couture film. Her work connected the styling advice she shared online with a wider push for size inclusion in Indian fashion.
Style on her own terms.
Her work ranges from outfit ideas to bridal couture and editorial shoots. She told Grazia that editorial covers remain especially meaningful to her, describing those sets as where she feels happiest. She has also taken her fashion work to Cannes and the Grammys, and discussed representation on South Asian Trailblazers.
