Mini bio
A family kitchen.
Sanjana grew up with vegetarian parents and two grandfathers who were chefs in East Africa. Her parents’ families trace their roots to Gujarat. She remembers rolling wonky chapatis as a child, encouraged by her dad.
Finding an audience.
She began food blogging in 2009. A turning point came after learning Indian sweets with her mum in late 2019: the videos prompted messages from people who wanted to learn those dishes. In January 2020, she started Cue the Comfort Food on Instagram, explaining Indian comfort cooking step by step.
From screen to bookshelf.
Her debut cookbook, Sanjana Feasts, arrived in 2024, bringing together dishes such as Ruffled Biryani and Sticky Toffee Gulab Jamun. Modern Masala followed in September 2026, continuing her exploration of vegetarian cooking across cultures.
