Mini bio
How it started.
Raised in Minnesota, Sonny moved to South Korea at 24 to teach English. He developed his filmmaking there and began making food reviews in 2015, aiming to make the kind of entertaining travel videos he wanted to watch.
Finding a home in Vietnam.
Sonny moved to Vietnam around 2017 to focus on the channel. What began as a small operation grew into a production team. His food adventures across Asia developed into a worldwide show, with a Webby People’s Voice win in 2020 marking an early milestone.
Making the show his way.
After shooting pilots for Food Network and Travel Channel that were not picked up, Sonny brought those production lessons back to YouTube. He directs as well as hosts, keeping the stories rooted in his own curiosity about food and people.
