Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Shenzhen, Steven moved to Ireland with his mother at eight and began acting at 13. He pursued acting before turning to sketches when the pandemic shut down productions and auditions. His main YouTube channel was created in March 2019, before that shift into online sketches.
The joke that travelled.
His September 2021 sketch When “Asian” Is a Difficulty Mode imagined a game with a difficulty setting beyond hard. Its “Emotional Damage” reaction escaped the original video and became a meme. The stern Asian Dad character draws on the family pressures and cultural experiences that run through Steven’s comedy.
Making the bigger show.
YouTube gave Steven the means to make Ginormo!, a parody of 1970s Japanese monster shows. He self-funded the project and co-produced it with Ken Mok, bringing in creators including Alan Chikin Chow, KallmeKris, Jeenie Weenie and Ian Boggs. It premiered on 12 May 2023.
Beyond the sketches.
His work now stretches from the pitch-show parody Fish Bowl to film roles. He plays Travis in Magnetosphere and Danny in Kung Fu Deadly, the supernatural comedy that premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2026. The same channel still makes room for short collaborations, family jokes and badminton parodies.

Trivia
- His mother filmed the original “Emotional Damage” sketch while he was in Ireland waiting for his U.S. visa renewal.
- The Off Brand sketch grew out of a real shopping memory: at 13, he bought what seemed to be genuine Coke in a shop full of knockoffs, then discovered it was years out of date.
- He has cited watching KSI as a young viewer as an example of how a creator can make an entertainment career feel possible.
- His team improvised extra air conditioning during a heatwave on the Ginormo! set, using shoelaces to help secure the pipes.
