Mini bio
How it started.
Growing up in Salt Lake City in a family of artists and entrepreneurs, Tezza first wanted to design clothes. At 16, photographing her own designs opened up a love of visual storytelling. She went on to study fine art and photography.
Finding her people.
She posted her photographs as social platforms grew, building a portfolio and a community together. Moving to New York brought a wider Instagram audience. Alongside commercial photography, she shared editing tools and wrote InstaStyle, a guide to photography and building an Instagram presence published by DK in 2018.
Making the tools.
Her audience wanted an easier way to create her photographic look on a phone. Tezza and her husband, developer Cole Herrmann, built and launched TEZZA from their small New York apartment in 2018. Its vintage-inspired editing tools grew out of that exchange with followers.
Beyond the screen.
Her work also includes art-print collage kits and print publishing. The second Tezza Magazine was created for New York Fashion Week in September 2025, with a founders’ letter, creative profiles, and cover star Izzi Allain. In her 2026 Create & Cultivate interview, she described wanting to build more spaces where people can connect and create in person.
