Mini bio
How it started.
Before Shredhappens, Arash worked in corporate finance. In his GQ interview, he described leaving GE in 2017 to focus on his health. Born in the United States, he also lived in Iran and Canada before returning to the US.
Finding his people.
Arash says he began sharing his meals on Instagram in 2018 as a form of accountability. His home cooking grew into a community of millions. Herbs, spices, citrus and sauces became central to an approach that made food satisfying rather than restrictive.
From kitchen to bookshelf.
He and his wife Madalina co-founded Kaizen to make high-protein, low-carb pasta and rice. His first cookbook, So Easy, So Good, came out in March 2025 and became a New York Times bestseller. His second, High Protein, Big Flavor, is scheduled for January 2027, with photos and macros for every recipe.
