Mini bio
How it started.
Ashifa began making mukbang videos in 2021 while working as a physics teacher in Tamil Nadu. A fan of Boki and Zac Choi ASMR, she wanted a hobby for lockdown weekends and started filming with her then-boyfriend, now her husband.
Finding her audience.
By March 2024, Hyphen reported that her channel had more than half a million subscribers. Her channel description explains her focus: bringing traditional Indian dishes, South Indian meals, spicy food and street food to ASMR viewers.
Behind the camera.
She told Hyphen that her husband and family help plan menus, prepare food and film. She also explained that her videos are recorded across multiple takes and that viewers should not try to copy the portions in one sitting.
Beyond mukbang.
On her Ashifora vlog channel, she shares another side of her life. Her 2023 Onam vlog includes Kerala set sarees, a sadhya meal, colourful pookalam flower arrangements and an introduction to her husband.
