Mini bio
How it started.
Barbie’s early audience grew online, including on Tumblr. In her 2016 W interview, she recalled hearing about an American Apparel open casting call there, sending in a selfie and receiving a reply the next day. Acting had already been her ambition; modeling opened a route into work in front of the camera.
Finding her voice.
Her unretouched Aerie campaign went viral in 2016. She also developed a voice as a host through online shows, including How to Behave, where she explored etiquette, dating, money and body image. Those videos made room for the humor and curiosity behind the fashion pictures.
From Kat to leading roles.
Her breakout acting role was Kat Hernandez in HBO’s Euphoria. She appeared in its first two seasons, from 2019 to 2022, and starred opposite Haley Lu Richardson in the road comedy Unpregnant. Her later work includes Lily in Bob Trevino Likes It, Grace in Mile End Kicks and Margot in Faces of Death.
A wider creative life.
In 2024, she made her Broadway debut in Cult of Love. She is also an executive producer of Mile End Kicks. Alongside acting, she continues to model and collaborate on clothes, including her 2025 Victoria’s Secret runway appearance and 2026 For Your Soul capsule.
