Mini bio

How it started.

Dana wanted to write, but felt held back by the state of her home. In 2009 she started A Slob Comes Clean as a practice blog, using the name Nony, short for anonymous. She documented what she tried, including the embarrassing photos and the approaches that failed.

Finding her people.

Readers recognized their own struggles in her posts. The strategies she developed at home became the No Mess Decluttering Method, a five-step process designed to clear clutter without creating a bigger mess. Her Container Concept treats the space available as a limit on what can stay.

From blog to books.

How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind appeared in 2016, followed by Decluttering at the Speed of Life in 2018 and Organizing for the Rest of Us in 2022. Decluttering at the Speed of Life became a Wall Street Journal bestseller and passed 500,000 copies sold in 2025.

What she’s building now.

Dana also trains and certifies coaches in her decluttering process. Her recent books explore faith and shame, introduce children to making room for favorite things, and apply a five-step process to procrastination. In October 2026, she announced that Procrastinators Get Stuff Done had made the New York Times bestseller list.
