Mini bio
How it started.
Before her online fashion guides, Ishita ran the womenswear label Quo, which she says showed at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. She began making social content in early 2020, initially for the label. The pandemic pushed her toward videos, and she later closed the clothing business.
Finding her voice.
Mixing humour with fashion helped her connect with viewers. Her videos combine styling demonstrations with comic poses, voice-overs and observations about everyday life. By her 2022 New Indian Express interview, she had passed 100,000 Instagram followers.
One outfit at a time.
She launched Ishtates of India on August 15, 2023, starting with Madhya Pradesh and a saree featuring Gond art. The series explores regional clothing, textiles and jewellery. In her 2025 Manifest interview, she described a research process that includes speaking with craftspeople and visiting markets and museums.
