Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Paris in 1995, Julien grew up around the art in his mother’s gallery, where he also worked. He told Models.com that his sister’s subscription to Vogue Paris made him want to become a photographer at thirteen.
Finding his way.
He graduated from London College of Communication in 2017. His early series Collecting and Staging began after a November 2016 visit to the National Theatre’s costume and prop archive, combining historical references with carefully built scenes.
The first big assignment.
Julien identifies a Saint Laurent editorial for Vogue Italia, styled by Alastair McKimm, as his first major fashion job. He later photographed campaigns for brands including Chanel, Dior, Hermès and Miu Miu, and joined Art Partner in November 2023.

His portraits bring together staged characters, deliberate lighting and an interest in cinema. Alongside fashion editorials, he has directed commercials. His own biography connects his approach to the paintings and drawings he encountered while growing up.
