Mini bio
How it started.
Laura traces her work back to becoming a mother while finishing her PhD coursework. In a Delight in Parenting interview, she recalled noticing that other parents did not have access to the child-development research she had been reading. She wanted to turn that research into practical help for everyday family life.
Finding her readers.
She built Aha! Parenting, now Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids, into a resource for parents from pregnancy through the teen years. Her 2012 book Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids became a bestseller. Peaceful Parent, Happy Siblings followed in 2015, with a hands-on workbook in 2018.

Her approach starts with the parent’s own emotional regulation, then builds connection and coaches children through challenges. Through articles, books, courses and interviews, she returns to familiar family moments: yelling, tantrums, sibling fights and setting limits with empathy.
