Mini bio

Meet Lilo.

Leonor Vargas, known online as Lilo and Huevona Life, was born and raised in Chicago and lives in El Paso. On her recipe site, she describes her approach as making homemade dishes simpler and quicker.

How it started.

In a 2022 KVIA interview, Lilo said she began creating cooking videos after seeing another influencer’s recipes. She wanted to shorten cooking time and give herself room to rest while dealing with postpartum depression. Making videos became a creative outlet.

Finding her people.

By March 2022, KVIA reported that she had more than 150,000 Instagram followers and 300,000 TikTok followers. Her cooking hacks and Frozen Fridays reached viewers beyond El Paso. She later cooked with Anjelah Johnson and took part in an avocado campaign for Hispanic Heritage Month.
