Mini bio

How it started.

MEEKZ’s story begins in Manchester, with roots in Gorton and Harpurhey. Early SoundCloud freestyles helped build an audience, and tracks including “Hoods Hottest” and “Like Me” brought more listeners into a world shaped by a distinctive voice, a hidden face and detailed street storytelling.

The breakthrough.

The 2020 debut EP Can’t Stop Won’t Stop turned that early attention into a full project. In the accompanying Apple Music interview, MEEKZ described it as a tribute to friends Dale Deezy and Tekka. The project reached No. 32 on the UK Official Albums Chart.

Building the catalogue.

Respect The Come Up followed in 2022, with Dave and Central Cee among its collaborators. MEEKZ told Apple Music the tape looks at the past, present and future. TRU arrived in May 2024, continuing the mix of personal stories and larger visual ideas.

A Manchester perspective.

In interviews, MEEKZ has spoken about wanting young people in Manchester to see a future in rap. The videos are part of that vision too, from tanks to carefully staged worlds. Releases including “Bk2life”, “EAZY” and “Soulja” carried that work into 2025 and 2026.
