Mini bio

How it started.

Nawal began sharing fashion on Instagram in 2017. In a 2020 Beauty Boss interview, she described struggling to find stylish Muslim women she could relate to online. Working for a small modest fashion business helped her see a space where she could bring her own ideas. She studied international studies before adding communications to pursue her creative interests.

Finding her community.

Her outfit posts grew into a full-time career around modest fashion and beauty. By the end of 2020, she had reached 200,000 Instagram followers and finished her final year of university, milestones she recalled in Hype DC’s 2021 interview. Her agency describes her work as a way to support Muslim women and challenge stereotypes.

Style with a point of view.

Nawal’s work connects personal style with questions about representation, faith and consumption. In 2023 she spoke at TEDxYouth@Sydney. Her own writing links slow fashion with Islamic values and describes thrifting as a regular part of her life. Alongside her fashion content, Just Delusional and Nawal’s Diary make room for conversations about adulthood, relationships, travel and community.
