How it started.
Nicolette studied design and management at Parsons and worked at an architecture, interiors, and branding firm after graduating. She began her blog in 2008 as a creative outlet, sharing design inspiration alongside personal style and travel. Readers connected with those personal posts, and writing opportunities at Vogue Italia Curvy and Marie Claire followed.
Making the clothes she wanted to wear.
Her first collection with ModCloth arrived in 2014. In 2017, she and Gabi Gregg launched Premme, offering statement pieces in sizes 12 to 30. The brand grew from their frustration with the options available to plus-size shoppers. Although Premme later closed, she continued discussing its lessons as a founder in her 2025 Origins of Influence interview.

Alongside her own content, Nicolette advises fashion and beauty brands on strategy, storytelling, and inclusion. Her work includes NARS’ first LGBTQ-focused Pride campaign and co-founding the Iranian Diaspora Collective, which supports the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.

She launched Loose Leaf Tea in August 2024, creating room for essays on style, beauty, identity, and everyday life. Her love of the New York Liberty also became part of her work. She co-hosts Full Court Femme with Bunny Mack, exploring sports, marketing, and business.
