Mini bio

How it started.

Tanesha started Girl With Curves in February 2011 while working in tech. A promotion had not changed how she felt about her career, and her husband suggested a style blog as a creative outlet. Fashion had long been the work she wanted to pursue.

Finding her people.

Outfit posts became a place to talk about self-esteem and finding clothes that fit. Tanesha explains that the word curvy describes her shape, rather than one clothing-size category. Her conversations with readers helped make self-acceptance central to the work.

From outfits to designs.

A tutu skirt released in November 2013 became an early signature, followed by fuller clothing collections in 2014. Later collaborations brought her designs to Dia&Co in 2017, Lane Bryant in 2018 and QVC in 2021. The Lane Bryant collection was the retailer’s first collaboration with a top fashion influencer.

What fans find now.

Her newsletter brings together fashion finds, wellness discoveries and thoughts on confidence and life over 40. The thread connecting it all is her interest in helping women feel comfortable with themselves and enjoy getting dressed.
