How it started.
Nilu grew up in Kalimpong and studied electrical and electronics engineering in Bengaluru. While working at Yahoo, an interest in websites and online journaling became BIG hair LOUD mouth. Launched in 2012, it grew from a personal diary and self-shot outfit posts into a platform for fashion, beauty and travel.
Finding an audience.
An early milestone was being selected as one of five bloggers to lead the Lakme School of Style campaign. In an interview with The Darjeeling Chronicle, Nilu described doing the styling, makeup, editing and writing alongside a photographer and cinematographer.
A wider creative practice.
The work now reaches beyond outfit diaries into creative direction and fashion films. In 2021, Nilu’s production house made a film for the H&M x Sabyasachi Wanderlust collaboration. That November, a Huda Beauty interview and Stories takeover explored Diwali, personal expression and learning to feel comfortable beyond appearances.
