How it started.

Payal wanted to model while in college, even when friends discouraged the idea because of their body type. In interviews, Payal has described moving toward self-acceptance and making room for more kinds of bodies in fashion.

From runway to Instagram.

Homegrown traces Payal’s modeling career to Lakmé Fashion Week in 2016. Instagram blogging followed, alongside modeling for Luluandsky, Lastinch, Amydus and Calae. In 2017, Payal won Miss Curvy Queen West India.

A wider platform.

Payal appeared in Olay India’s 2019 #FaceAnything campaign alongside Masaba Gupta, Kubbra Sait, Priyanka Kochhar and Lilly Singh. Their work now also includes makeup transformations, outfit styling and travel videos, from Kashmir to weekend getaways near Mumbai.
