Mini bio
Making worlds from the start.
Ross loved inventing characters and worlds as a child. He began taking art seriously at 16, then moved from San Jose to Los Angeles to study industrial design at ArtCenter. At 19, he worked as a character designer on Earth to Echo.
Finding his way to YouTube.
In an Anime Herald interview, Ross described leaving art school with one semester remaining to try acting in Hollywood. He wanted a place to combine drawing with making people laugh, and YouTube became that outlet. His playful painting videos, including reworking drawings by his mom and fans, helped introduce his art to a wider audience.
A world of his own.
His debut art book NIMA arrived in July 2020, following a swordswoman through a fantasy world. Alongside his original stories, Ross teaches illustration and concept art through videos and Digital Art Bootcamp. His second art book, Symphony, explores characters and worlds shaped by creation, loss and finding a way home to yourself.
